HRV and Health Connect

Optional HRV recovery insights around your breathing sessions.

BreathFriend keeps guided breathing simple, then gives supported-device users optional context before and after repeated sessions.

Secondary to the habit

See context without turning every session into a performance score.

HRV can vary for many reasons. BreathFriend presents recovery information as optional context, while the primary experience remains a guided breathing session.

  • Pre-session and post-session HRV snapshots.
  • Trend views across repeated sessions.
  • Wear OS recovery tiles on supported devices.
  • Health Connect integration for supported data flows.

What BreathFriend shows

On supported devices and with appropriate permissions, BreathFriend can display recovery snapshots around sessions and longer-term trend views. Availability depends on the watch, sensor support and data permissions.

Health Connect integration

Health Connect can provide a shared Android data layer for supported health information. BreathFriend uses the integration only where the app and device support the relevant flow.

What HRV cannot tell you by itself

A single HRV value is not a diagnosis, and a higher number is not automatically better in every context. Sleep, activity, illness, stress, device fit and measurement timing can all affect readings.

Important limitationBreathFriend is not a medical device. Do not use its recovery views to diagnose a condition or make treatment decisions.

To focus on the breathing experience itself, read the Wear OS guide or compare guided breathing exercises.
